How to use Password Generator

  1. Set Password length (8–128); 16 or more characters is a good choice for important accounts.
  2. Choose how many to create in Number of passwords (1–20).
  3. Pick an option under Alphabet: Letters, digits, and symbols; Letters and digits; or Letters and digits without common lookalikes.
  4. Click Process to generate the passwords, one per line.
  5. Click Copy result or Download (passwords.txt), and paste the password into the sign-up form and your password manager. Process again for a fresh set.

About Password Generator

Reusing an old password or inventing one from a name and birth year is how accounts get hacked. This Password Generator creates truly random passwords using the cryptographic random number generator built into your browser, the same Web Crypto source used for security features. Pick a length from 8 to 128 characters, choose how many passwords you want, up to 20 at once, and select which set of characters to draw from.

Three alphabets are available: letters, digits and symbols for maximum strength; letters and digits only for sites that reject symbols; and a version without lookalike characters such as O and 0 or l and 1, handy when a password must be read aloud or typed from paper. Passwords are created on your device and never transmitted. Save the one you use in a password manager.

Features

  • Uses the browser's Web Crypto random generator with rejection sampling, so every character in the chosen alphabet is equally likely.
  • Creates passwords from 8 to 128 characters long.
  • Generates up to 20 passwords in one go, listed one per line, with Copy result or Download as passwords.txt.
  • Offers three alphabets, including a symbol set of !@#$%^&*()-_=+[]{}:,.? and a mode that leaves out I, O, l, 0 and 1.
  • Refuses to run without secure browser randomness instead of falling back to a weaker method.

Why use it

  • Get passwords that are hard to guess or crack, without thinking them up yourself.
  • Use a unique password for every account so one leak does not unlock the rest.
  • Avoid typing errors when sharing Wi-Fi or account passwords by voice or on paper.
  • Stay private, since passwords are created on your device and never sent anywhere.

How it works

Draw cryptographic 32-bit integers; reject values outside an even alphabet multiple; map accepted values to characters uniformly.

Examples

One strong 20-character password

Input: Password length 20, Number of passwords 1, Alphabet: Letters, digits, and symbols

Result: I:zR?N?^Q&7%NGZW*!W9
Web Crypto with rejection sampling, sampled uniformly from the selected alphabet; no guarantee that every character class appears. Store in a password manager.

Sample output: each run produces new random characters.

Three passwords without lookalikes

Input: Password length 16, Number of passwords 3, Alphabet: Letters and digits without common lookalikes

Result: dzPLBVw6KjztUQwY
5ictAtomVjnHa8Jm
ctdPQbfyKXQatRdx
Web Crypto with rejection sampling, sampled uniformly from the selected alphabet; no guarantee that every character class appears. Store in a password manager.

Sample output: each run produces new random characters.

Two passwords for a site that rejects symbols

Input: Password length 12, Number of passwords 2, Alphabet: Letters and digits

Result: B3cv6Rleb9qo
iCabtkQaX1Px
Web Crypto with rejection sampling, sampled uniformly from the selected alphabet; no guarantee that every character class appears. Store in a password manager.

Sample output: each run produces new random characters.

Password Generator: frequently asked questions

Will every password contain an uppercase letter, a number and a symbol?

Not necessarily. Each character is picked uniformly at random from the selected alphabet, with no forced rules, so a short password can occasionally lack a digit or symbol. That keeps the randomness unbiased. If a site insists on every character type, check the result before using it, or simply click Process again for a new one.

Which characters does each alphabet use?

Letters and digits uses A–Z, a–z and 0–9. Letters, digits, and symbols adds !@#$%^&*()-_=+[]{}:,.? to that set. Letters and digits without common lookalikes removes I, O, lowercase l, 0 and 1, so characters that look alike in many fonts never appear. Spaces, quotes, slashes and backslashes are never included.

How long should my password be?

The tool accepts 8 to 128 characters and rejects anything outside that range with an inline message. For email, banking and other important accounts, 16 characters or more from the full alphabet is a strong choice. Longer is always stronger, so if a site allows it and you use a password manager, there is little reason to go short.

How random are these passwords?

Each character comes from the Web Crypto random generator in your browser, and a technique called rejection sampling removes the small bias that simple methods introduce. The tool requires a secure context, meaning HTTPS or localhost; if Web Crypto is unavailable it stops with an error instead of using the weaker Math.random function.

Are generated passwords saved or sent anywhere?

No. They are created in your browser, shown on screen and forgotten when you leave or press Reset. The tool keeps no history, so copy the password into a trusted password manager straight away. If you use Download, the passwords.txt file is saved only on your device; delete it once the passwords are stored safely. Treat any password that has been shared in chat or email as exposed.
