How to use Age Calculator
- Pick or type the date of birth in the Birth date field (format YYYY-MM-DD).
- Check the Age on date field. It is filled with today's date automatically; change it to a cut-off date, such as one printed in an exam notification, if you need your age on another day.
- Press Calculate.
- Read your age in years, months and days in the result, and the total days, weeks and days since your last birthday in the note below it.
- Copy the result for your form, or press Reset to check another date.
Supported formats and limitations

- Output
- Result on screen, with one-click copy

About Age Calculator
Forms for school admission, government jobs, exams and pensions often ask your age as on a particular date, not just today. This age calculator answers both. Enter a birth date and the date you need the age on, which starts out as today's date, and it returns your exact age in years, months and days, such as 26 years, 8 months, 1 day. It counts real calendar birthdays instead of dividing days by 365, so leap years never push the answer off by one.
Below the result you also see your total age in days and in completed weeks, and the number of days since your most recent birthday. People born on 29 February are handled with a stated rule: in non-leap years, the birthday is treated as 28 February. All dates are processed as plain calendar dates, independent of time zone, so the answer is the same on any device. It is a calculation aid rather than an official age certificate.
Features
- Exact age in years, months and days on any reference date
- Total days, completed weeks and days since the last birthday
- 29 February birthdays use 28 February in non-leap years
- Age on date defaults to today; dates are time-zone-independent
- Error if the birth date is after the reference date or is not a real date
Why use it
- Check eligibility against an exam or job age cut-off
- Avoid off-by-one errors around birthdays
- Works for past and future reference dates
- Nothing you enter leaves your device
Formula used
Completed years = reference year−birth year, minus one if the clamped birthday has not yet occurred.
Examples
Age on a chosen date
Input: Birth date: 1995-08-15, Age on date: 2026-10-30
Result: 31 years, 2 months, 15 days
Total: 11399 days (about 1628 weeks).
76 days since last birthday. February 29 birthdays use February 28 in non-leap years.
The 31st birthday fell on 15 August 2026, and 15 October 2026 completed the second month after it.
29 February birthday in a non-leap year
Input: Birth date: 2000-02-29, Age on date: 2025-02-28
Result: 25 years, 0 months, 0 days
Total: 9131 days (about 1304 weeks).
0 days since last birthday. February 29 birthdays use February 28 in non-leap years.
In 2025, the birthday is counted on 28 February, so the person turns exactly 25 that day.
Age Calculator: frequently asked questions
How do I find my age as on a cut-off date for an exam?
Enter your date of birth in Birth date, then replace today's date in Age on date with the cut-off date from the notification, for example 1 January or 1 August of the exam year. The result shows your age in years, months and days on that day; the years figure is your completed age. Always read the notification's own rules, because some recruiters count age differently or allow relaxations.
Does the tool show months, days and total days?
Yes. The result is a years, months and days breakdown, such as 31 years, 2 months, 15 days. The note below adds your total age in days, the same figure in completed weeks, and the days since your last birthday. If you need the number of days between two other dates, use the Date Difference Calculator instead.
How are 29 February birthdays handled?
In years without 29 February, the tool treats 28 February as the birthday. So someone born on 29 February 2000 turns 25 on 28 February 2025. Some laws and institutions use 1 March instead, so this is not a legal determination; check the rule that applies to your case.
Why do I get an error?
An error appears if a date is missing, is not a real calendar date such as 31 April, has a year outside 1000 to 9999, or if the birth date comes after the Age on date. Correct the highlighted field and press Calculate again. Dates must follow the YYYY-MM-DD pattern.
Can I use this as proof of age?
No. The calculator only does the arithmetic. Official proof of age comes from documents such as a birth certificate, school leaving certificate, passport or Aadhaar, depending on what the authority accepts. Use the tool to double-check what you write on a form, not as a substitute for those documents.
Results are estimates for general information, not financial, medical, legal, tax or property advice. Confirm important figures with the relevant institution or a qualified professional.
