About Split PDF
Split PDF breaks one document into smaller PDFs. Use it to separate the chapters of an e-book, pull each employee’s payslip out of a combined file, or send only the relevant part of a long report.
Choose how to split: custom ranges such as 1-3 and 4-10, a fixed number of pages per file, or one PDF per page. When the result is more than one file, the tool packs them into a ZIP archive so you download everything with a single click.
Features
- Three split modes: custom ranges, fixed size, every page
- Range checking against the real page count, with clear errors
- ZIP download for multiple files, named part-1.pdf, part-2.pdf and so on
- Lossless page copying
Why use it
- Share only the pages people need
- Stay under email attachment limits
- No upload, so confidential documents stay with you
How it works
The page ranges are validated against the page count, then each range is copied into its own new PDF with pdf-lib. Several files are packed into a ZIP archive in your browser.
Examples
Custom ranges
Input: 20-page PDF, ranges “1-5, 6-20”
Result: A ZIP with part-1.pdf (5 pages) and part-2.pdf (15 pages).
Payslips
Input: 30-page PDF, every 1 page
Result: A ZIP with 30 single-page PDFs.
Split PDF: frequently asked questions
How do I write ranges?
Separate ranges with commas. Use a hyphen for a run of pages (4-7) and a single number for one page (9). Each range becomes one file.
Can ranges overlap?
Yes. Each range is exported independently, so a page can appear in more than one output file.
Why do I get a ZIP file?
Browsers handle one download best, so several PDFs are bundled into one ZIP. Every operating system can open ZIP files without extra software.
